MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Medications for all the residents are centrally stored, distributed and recorded.
Medication records are kept up to date, and administrated strictly according to doctor order.  The medication records are also inspected by California Community Care Licensing.  Refill orders are given to the family or pharmacies in timely manner to ensure uninterrupted medicine supply.

MONITOR OF DAILY LIVING

Observation of resident's daily living activities such as bath, dressing, grooming and any unusual or sickness signs are monitored daily. Vital signs are recorded periodically to maintain a health history.

To obtain up to date information on senior’s health, Sunnycare schedule routine nurse visit to take vital signs and conduct trainings to staff to improve residents’ care.

FOOD AND NUTRITION

Managing resident's regularity is very critical to avoid constipation, and complication derived from it.  Sunnycare pays great attention to what residents eat everyday, and help them build a good BM routine and avoid laxatives. Nutritional meals are home cooked every day.  There are many fresh vegetable, fruit and plenty of water to eliminate constipation.  When the weather is good, the meals are often taken in the sunny and beautiful garden to enhance a pleasant dining experience. 

ACTIVITIES

Besides good nutrition, another important factor for seniors' healthy life is exercise.
 
In Sunnycare, seniors are led by our caring staff in performing daily exercises, to stretch their arms and legs.
In sunny days, the seniors are often taken out for a nice walk around the facility or the neighborhood.

Sunnycare promotes various activities.  There are daily games, such as Bingo or Dominos, tailored for most senior to nurtures the atmosphere of a close and supportive family.  Monthly, there are live music or theme activities inspired by major holidays such as: Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and many birthday celebrations.  Families are always welcome to join into the events.

With increasing demand of Alzheimer care among the elderly, Sunnycare has many custom features designed for Alzheimer residents
